The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust announced today that Jeffrey D. Pinneo will become a Trustee of the foundation beginning September 1, 2016. Pinneo will succeed Dr. Lynwood W. Swanson, who will retire and become Trustee emeritus after 29 years of Trustee service to the Murdock Trust, one of the longest current‐serving Trustees of any foundation in the Northwest.
Pinneo comes to the Trust after his recent retirement as president and CEO of Medical Teams International.
Previous to Medical Teams International, Pinneo served 29 years with Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, 9 years as president and CEO of Horizon. In addition to his corporate and nonprofit leadership experience, Pinneo has served on a number of boards and advisory committees, including Seattle Pacific University School of Business, Washington State University School of Business, Pacific Continental Bank and the Seattle Hospitality Group. “It is an honor and responsibility to join this incredible organization that partners so effectively serving the common good of our communities,” said Pinneo.
“We are pleased to have a leader who understands the challenges and opportunities of the Northwest join our leadership to help steward our mission,” said John Castles, who will continue to serve as a Trustee at the Murdock Trust.
Pinneo will replace longtime Trustee Dr. Swanson, retired CEO of FEI and esteemed Northwest nonprofit and corporate leader. “I could not be more delighted to pass the baton to someone as capable as Jeff Pinneo. We have a unique mission and serve a large group of organizations who in turn serve a broad and diverse group of constituencies,” said Swanson, who knew Jack Murdock personally.
The Murdock Trust was created from the estate of Melvin “Jack” Murdock, one of the co‐founders of Tektronix, and a catalyst to the development of the technology sector in the Northwest.
