One of the great joys of working at the Murdock Trust is the dedicated team of professionals who help support our mission and the work of the nonprofits across our region who serve the common good. We wanted to take a moment and update you on a few exciting changes that have taken place regarding the Murdock Trust staff.
Earlier this year, we welcomed Amy Dickerson as our new Program Coordinator for Enrichment Initiatives. Amy will oversee the logistics for all Murdock Trust Enrichment Initiatives, as well as many of our convenings and gatherings, building on her extensive expertise in cultivating service-learning opportunities for students across a diversity of backgrounds. Amy began her career at San Diego State University with roles serving and supporting students in various campus programs before moving to Portland where she worked in Residence Life at University of Portland. She then proceeded to Concordia University where she oversaw the Office of Service Leadership. A graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University, Amy earned her Master’s in post-secondary education with a specialization in student affairs from San Diego State University. We are thrilled to welcome Amy’s extensive knowledge related to creating positive impact within the nonprofit community and her commitment to volunteerism that will help serve and shape a variety of programs at the Trust.
Elmer Huh has officially been appointed to the Oregon Growth Board. Founded in 2012, the Board oversees two sources of investment capital for the state with a specific emphasis on funding opportunities that benefit Oregon-based businesses and organizations. We are so proud to see the state recognize Elmer’s expertise in both the fields of finance and community service and we are grateful for his desire to find ways to bring the knowledge and experience gathered by the Trust to benefit the common good of Oregon communities.
Victor Sheldon will join the Murdock Trust as a Visiting Fellow this summer. A retired Navy Chaplain, Victor served various Navy and Marine Corps units around the world for over 32 years, including a tour on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon and later in Africa. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity School for Ministry, and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. Victor will provide the Trust with valuable insight regarding outreach to Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and First Responders by nonprofits and faith based organizations. Victor has worked extensively in the area of resiliency and has established networks throughout the military and academia.
