Generous. Inspirational. Energetic. Servant.
These are all words that come to mind when we think of Margaret “Muggs” Broselle.
For more than 20 years, Muggs has partnered with the Trust as one of our caterers, supporting Trust events and our staff with delicious food and unending hospitality. Following her decades of service, Muggs has decided to embark on a new chapter with her family by entering retirement, and we want to take a moment to recognize her contributions to our work and to the Pacific Northwest community.
Known for her comfort food, Muggs has a heart for making delicious meals and serving others through her cooking. Muggs often made staff-favorites like taco salad, loaded baked potatoes and her famous meatloaf, and we could always count on her to surprise us with a made-from-scratch dessert.
All of the proceeds Muggs made from catering for the Murdock Trust and other clients went right back into the community through her service to local charities. A strong Catholic, Muggs is passionate about giving back to organizations, including cooking monthly dinners at Share Vancouver and cooking hundreds of freezer meals every six months for the nuns at Our Lady of the Rock Benedictine Monastery on Shaw Island.
The staff at the Murdock Trust has eaten hundreds of meals lovingly prepared by Muggs, and she has become part of the family, often attending staff functions like our holiday gift exchange. We will miss seeing her smiling face regularly in our offices, but we wish her the best in her hard-earned and well-deserved retirement. Congratulations, Muggs! Thank you for serving us so well for the last 20 years.
