After 13.5 years of exemplary work and culture-enhancing service, Conner Peckham is stepping away from his role at the Murdock Trust to pursue new opportunities in the nonprofit and philanthropic space.
Conner came to the Trust in 2010 as a recent graduate of Warner Pacific University. While he began his time at the Trust as an Administrative Assistant, he soon moved into key roles supporting communications and technology across dozens of annual programs, interfacing with hundreds of nonprofits leaders while establishing systems and structures, many of which are still in use today. Conner then brought these skills to our grants operations, streamlining processes and implementing grant systems updates, while being a primary point of contact for all tech needs within the Trust team. He played a critical part in digitizing many Trust processes and has had a hand in processing thousands of grants. In every one of these roles, Conner brought an extraordinary level of detail, thoughtfulness, and excellence to his tasks that has set our team up for success.
“Conner’s work at the Trust has been filled with ever-evolving change, and he has excelled at embracing all opportunities and exceedingly providing best solutions for each need,” said Marybeth Stewart Goon, Grants Manager. “No matter the situation, he thrived in finding solutions using his levelheadedness and problem-solving skills.”
Yet anyone who has worked with Conner will tell you that he will be most remembered on our team for the fun and laughter he carries with him. From our Annual Conner Peckham Cornhole Tournament to his creation of personalized videos for each staff member when they retire, Conner has left an indelible mark on our team culture. Ask anyone who has worked with Conner and they will have a story of his kindness and care – from driving colleagues home after work when their cars wouldn’t start to patiently teaching them a new system (for the second or third time).
“I would be remiss if I did not mention the importance of Conner’s passion for the Trust’s mission and in being a servant leader,” Marybeth continues. “Wow! This is truly inspiring. For one to not only say but to live one’s life in this manner is beyond measure.”
“Conner will be greatly missed at the Murdock Trust,” says Mike True, Chief Financial Officer. “He has been a stable and strong contributor throughout his entire time here. He has spent 13.5 years investing in the organization and the well-being of grantees, and has made a substantial contribution to the work of nonprofits throughout the whole region. He is a man of utmost integrity and character and a strong culture builder within the organization. Thank you for all that you have given us, Conner.”
