Quarterly Grants Reports

We are pleased to share that at the Murdock Trust Winter Grants Meeting,

Trustees approved 93 grants totaling $26,173,181 to nonprofit organizations across the Pacific Northwest.

At the Trust, we like to say that our fruit grows on the trees of others. As flowers are blooming around us and new life is emerging this spring, we are heartened by the ways new fruit is growing in our region through the faithful work of each of these nonprofits. Below, we have highlighted a handful of these stories which we are fortunate to play a small role in helping bring to life. Alaska

Alaska Botanical Garden

Alaska Botanical Garden showcases Anchorage’s natural beauty through science, education, and recreation. New capital improvements will ensure this work continues into the future.

Alaska Pacific University

Research from Alaska Pacific University will help advance understanding of the Dixon Glacier in the Kenai Mountains, AK, which could increase hydropower production capabilities.

Idaho

Idaho Nonprofit Center

New program support for the Idaho Nonprofit Center will enable them to better serve local organizations through training and development.

The Ambrose School

The Ambrose School recently completed a hall for dining, drama, and musical performances, and Trust support will help them furnish this space with AV equipment and furniture.

Montana

Missoula Family YMCA

Support for a new Early Child Care Center at the Missoula Family YMCA will double the organization’s capacity to offer care for infants and children.

Warriors & Quiet Waters

New staff will enable Warriors & Quiet Waters to better serve post-9/11 combat veterans and their loved ones through fly fishing and other outdoor activities.

Archie Bray Foundation

New infrastructure, equipment, and staff will equip the Archie Bray Foundation to support the practice and study of the ceramic arts.

Oregon

Chelsea Hicks Foundation

Children going through cancer or other life-threatening illnesses get valuable support and care thanks to Chelsea Hicks Foundation and their new staff.

Underscore Media

Underscore Media Collaboration will be able to increase coverage of indigenous communities thanks to new communications staff.

Trillium Family Services

Facility renovations at Trillium Family Services will increase behavioral and mental health services for youth and their families.

Dogs for Better Lives

New leadership staff at Dogs for Better Lives will help the organization better serve those with disabilities and enhance their quality of life.

Washington

Young Women Empowered

New staff will help Young Women Empowered serve diverse women ages 13-26 in the greater Seattle area as they navigate well-being, health, education, career, and life.

Benaroya Research Institute

New equipment will help researchers at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason to better understand and treat immune-mediated diseases.

NW School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children

Thanks to new staff, the Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children will have greater capacity to serve young children in need of specialized early intervention services.

Wing Luke Museum

Facility renovations and preservations at Wing Luke Museum will help connect more visitors to the rich history, culture, and art of Asian Pacific Americans.

World Relief Seattle

World Relief Seattle will rebuild capacity for refugee resettlement in the Seattle-Tacoma metro area with the help of new program support funding.
