It is a bittersweet time at the Murdock Trust because, after more than 11 years of remarkable service, Camille Cotton is leaving our team for an outstanding leadership role.
Camille joined the Trust Grants team in 2011, and has demonstrated her incredible capacity to support our grantees and grantmaking process in a variety of ways. As Grants Manager, Camille helped process letters of inquiry and applications, supervised the editorial process for grant proposals, distributed grants data, and so much more. With her creative eye, writing skills, and background in communications, she was also an integral part of the Trust’s communications efforts, helping pioneer our blog and social media presence, providing valuable input into the development and refinement of our website, and telling stories through our Quarterly Grants and Annual Reports. Not to mention she also helped develop the Trust’s current grants management portal, which every applicant and grantee uses when they apply.
“Our Grants process would not be where it was today without Camille’s thoughtful and tireless work,” says Dana Miller, senior program director for grants programs at the Trust. “Nearly every aspect of our grants process has benefited from her careful work and skillful management. Not to mention, she has been a true joy to work with and will be deeply missed on our team.”
In her tenure with the Trust, Camille has played a role in processing more than 3,500 grants to hundreds of organizations serving the common good.
“It is not an exaggeration to say that every grantee in recent years has benefited from Camille’s thoughtful work,” says Steve Moore, executive director of the Trust. “For eleven years, she has demonstrated exemplary service to our grantees and our team at the Trust. Not only that, she has inspired us all with the ways she passionately works to make communities more inclusive for those with disabilities, advocating with joy and thoughtfulness. Words can’t express how much we are grateful for her, or how much she will be missed.”
While we are sad that we will not see her smiling face in our offices, we are thrilled that she will be continuing on her professional journey in service of philanthropy, bringing her outstanding skills and talents to provide leadership at a peer funder in our region.
We could not be more grateful for her 11 years of dedicated service to our grantees, and to the many ways she has enriched our team and our work at the Trust.
Camille, though this is a bittersweet transition for us all, the entire Murdock Trust team is cheering you on as you enter an exciting new chapter. We love you, we will miss you, and we can’t say thank you enough!
