At our most recent grant meeting, the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust crossed an incredible milestone, surpassing $1 billion in cumulative grants since opening our doors in 1975.
This is an exciting moment for our team, offering a testament to the hard work of every Murdock Trust staff member and partner over a 44-year period, including the thoughtful vision and investment laid out by our benefactor, Jack Murdock, and the wise stewardship of our Trustees and leaders.
But more than that, this is a testament to the spirit of the Pacific Northwest nonprofit community. The only way we are able to reach this point in our journey is because there are tens-of-thousands of individuals working and volunteering at thousands of nonprofit organizations that have allowed us to come alongside and support their efforts to serve the common good of our community.
As our team has celebrated this milestone, we have sought to try and wrap our heads around what exactly $1 billion invested in Pacific Northwest communities really looks like. There is no way that we can truly outline the impact of the thousands of nonprofits we have been fortunate to partner with, but we hope that this infographic offers a glimpse at the positive impact we all can have when we come together to serve the common good (click on the photo to see the full graphic).
