Bozeman Health has provided health care to rural southwest Montana for more than a century, carrying out its mission to improve community health and quality of life. A longtime Murdock grantee, BH completed two recent expansions to its Bozeman Health Cancer Center to better meet the health needs of its patients, their families, and the staff who care for them.
In 2014 a new vault was constructed to house a state-of-the-art Linear Accelerator with built-in CT scanner. This is a major piece of equipment used for cancer radiation treatment. Construction not only included a doorless vault, but also allowed for separate men’s and women’s dressing rooms and waiting areas.
The following year, the chemotherapy treatment area at the Cancer Center was expanded to include a full reconfiguration of the infusion and medical oncology portion of the suite, including the pharmacy area. Five additional exam rooms, two private infusion bays and five additional open concept infusion bays were added. Today, local cancer patients benefit from a total of 19 high-quality stations. The waiting and reception area, nurses’ stations, team work areas, lab and refreshment centers were also remodeled to better serve patient, family, and staff needs.
