Moses Lee, program director, will attend Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) March 20-22 in Washington, DC. FOTH brings together foundation leaders from across the country to DC for meetings with Congress about key issues of importance to foundations and philanthropy. One of the points of conversation will be around charitable deduction legislation, which you can learn about in this video:
FOTH is presented by the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, in partnership with the Alliance for Charitable Reform and Council on Foundations. Foundation trustees and staff work with their regional associations to schedule meetings on Capitol Hill to personally discuss their work with members of Congress.
The purpose of FOTH 2017 is to:
- Inform and educate Congress about philanthropy
- Create visibility for foundations and philanthropy on Capitol Hill
- Advocate on issues affecting foundations
- Encourage Congress to view foundations as resources on key public policy issues
At the Trust, we believe nonprofit organizations are vital to our communities and our economy. When these groups thrive, we all stand to benefit. That’s why, in addition to the Trust’s grantmaking activities and enrichment programs, we’re pleased to share ideas, resources and strategies to help nonprofits fulfill their mission, sustain their operations and develop more effective leaders.
