“It’s about tending to the people of our community and providing unique experiences.”
That’s how one volunteer of Idaho Botanical Garden describes the impact of the 15 acres that are currently under cultivation in Boise, Idaho. And to hear visitors and volunteers talk about the Garden, it’s obvious that, as they tend to the Garden, the Garden tends to them in return. They call it growing with the Garden.
More than 190,000 people visit the Garden each year to take part in the 80 educational, entertainment and cultural and community events that are offered for children, adults and families. From events like “Bug Day,” which teaches kids to be respectful of what nature offers, to the the “Great Garden Escape” summer concert series, and “Winter Garden aGlow,” the holiday event that transforms the Garden with a dazzling display of over 380,000 sparkling lights , there’s something to enchant, entertain and educate every visitor.
This year the Murdock Trust awarded a grant of $190,000 to the Garden to make what many would consider an unglamorous upgrade: a new multi-stall restroom. But we understand that good, basic infrastructure makes a facility run smoothly and improves the experience of visitors, concert-goers, young learners, and volunteers. We are proud to partner with Idaho Botanical Garden while they continually strive to tend to their community as well as their beautiful facilities.
